Canggu,Bali-8.7.2024~In commemoration of the tenacity and patriotic spirit of the fighters of the Ukrainian war that was raging, a documentary film from the perspective of soldiers who were directly involved in the tense 7-week mission for Ukrainian soldiers from the Berlingo Battalion who defended the Ukrainian border area in the jungle in winter, was screened at Padi Restaurant & Bar Canggu Bali on July 7 2024. Before the screening of the documentary began, the event began with the playing of the bandura, a traditional musical instrument performed by Larysa Kovalchuk, a famous Ukrainian bandura picker and singer who for the first time came specifically from Adelaide, Australia to perform on the stage. Ukrainian Culture at the Denpasar Cultural Park on 9 and 10 July 2024. Participants who were mostly Ukrainians living in Bali, were also attended by the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Bali, Nyoman Astama and the Ukrainian Ambassador to Indonesia, Vasyl Gamianin.

A tense mission for 99 Ukrainian soldiers in November 2023 who had to fight and defend Ukrainian territory on a snowy and cold railroad track through the pine forests of the North-Western Kupyansk area connecting Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine. This mission is very important because soldiers must be able to defend this area, because failure means the enemy’s entry into the second largest city in Ukraine, Kharkiv.

In this poignant film, 19-year-old young Ukrainian soldiers are ready to sacrifice their lives through a winter forest where the sky suddenly turns red when gunfire occurs. Horrors and human values ​​that will never leave your memory.

Even though this film does not tell in-depth details about the mission, you will see death and bodies lying in the ground; you will never forget this view. Rebecca said that even she had never seen a portrait of war like that, so clear, terrible and wildly frightening.
